This is a cover by one of my favorite singer-songwriters Matthew Ryan. The original appears on his album 'Hustle up Starlings'. The album is a beautiful, poetic and heartfelt record that has inspired me endlessly.
I recorded this as a creative exercise that turned into a rather frantic and obsessive 48 hours of recording. I changed the key and boldly added an intro and some instrumentation that wasn't in the original. I had no intention of sharing this but after nervously sending it to Matthew himself just as a "thank you for your stream of beautiful songs and inspiration" He wrote back and not only liked it but wanted other folks to hear it. He gave me permission to release this and far be it from me to turn that down. He's the real deal folks. Genuine, kind and well deserving of your attention and support.
